Plantain Close Up

Kaya Varuthathu (Plantain chips)

Ingredients:
Unripe Plantains : 1 kg
Turmeric powder : 1/2 tsp
Salt : 2 tsp
Oil : 2 1/2 cups

Preparation:

  • Peel plantains and cut into thin round slices.
  • Heat oil in a kadhai and sprinkle in turmeric and salt.
  • Fry chips in batches till golden and crisp.
  • Remove from oil, drain, cool and store in an airtight container.
